Team Solution Cornwall
Team work makes the "Cornish' dream Work.. Peter Stephens & Layton Bennett
Cornwall has the UK's longest county coastline and arguably the best selection of alround conditions to take advantage of the Atlantic's bounty. If you like to get wet who wouldn't want to make the most of it?
Who are we?
Peter - Lived in Cornwall all my life and Watersports is in my DNA – Kitesurfing, Wing Foiling, Windsurfing, SUP, Sailing, and more. My father was a boat builder and I raced sailing dinghies and catamarans from an early age. This progressed through windsurf racing, coaching and instructing and playing in waves. In the early 90's I set up Westcountry Watersports selling top Watersports brands and on this journey I enjoyed early adoption of the newer sports. Kitesurfing and SUP were added to the repertoire in their infancy and have serviced them actively ever since.
Progressing out of the 'bricks and mortar shop' in 2011 into Kitesurfkit I have continued selling North Kiteboarding and now Duotone gear while enjoying water time to the max. In recent years I have also been adopted onto the Board of the British Kitesports Association using my experience to help out with the evolution of the NGB for Kitesurf and Wing foil too.
Wingfoilkit evolved from the early days of this new foiling sport and I set up the first Wing school in Cornwall promoting, teaching and selling the gear successfully since then.
A new Chapter... With the formation of Solution Cornwall, teaming up with Layton, it merges Kite, Wing, Foil, SUP and Windsurf under one focal point. This positive step is also reinforced with building our relationship with Stithians Lake a focal point for Wingfoiling in Cornwall.
Layton - An avid watersports addict. I was introduced to windsurfing at 8 years old and spent most of my weekends windsurfing at Bala lake in North Wales. Moving to Poole Dorset, meant locations such as Sandbanks, Poole Harbour and K-Bay were on my doorstep, this is where windsufing became my passion. I went on to compete at a national level in waves and was known (amongst friends) for my forward loops! lol. I then took up kitesurfing as a lightwind option to windsurfing - LOL who was I kidding!!
Having met my future wife Pro kitesurfer Dreya the Slayer (Gladiators champion and Flexifoil team rider) in Cape Town I went on to work for TKC as the UK brand manager for Wipika and F-One. Ive also tried my hand at surfing, SUP'ing and mountainbiking.
Wingfoiling was a no brainer for me, it ticked all the boxes and I'm really enjoying the learning journey! You can follow my exploits on instagram just lookup Wingfoil_Cornwall - dont forget to follow lol!! (shameless pimping)
Recently I've teamed up with Peter Stephens to put our heads together and get involved in the sports we both have an long standing passion for. Theres big plans, so stay in touch and hope to see you on the water here in Cornwall soon!!!
